Luton boss Mick Harford has declared his interest in signing midfielder Andy Burgess.
The 27-year-old was released by Rushden at the end of this season and local reports suggest that terms have been agreed, with Harford hinting a deal could be imminent.
"We would be interested in speaking to Andy Burgess," said the Hatters boss.
"We're in contact with numerous players. We're looking to fill seven or eight positions and we are very close to making two or three signings.
"This is for a variety of positions, defensively, for a wide man and a couple more strikers."
Burgess, who can play on either flank, made 279 appearances for Diamonds in two spells at the club and also had a two-year stay at Oxford.
