Phil Mickelson: "It was a lot of ups and downs for me, a lot of birdies a lot of bogeys fighting to get into it, back out, back in it. It's been kind of an emotional four days or five days.

"I was standing on the eighth tee box after a couple of bogeys at even par not looking good, and I fought back in it with that birdie on nine, birdie on 12 eagle on 13, and put myself in a great position to close it out.

"But unfortunately I didn't finish it off. And certainly I'm disappointed - but now that it's over, I've got more important things going on."

Ross Fisher: "It's something I'll never forget. This is still a new experience for me. This is only my second US Open. But what an experience. Coming to New York, hearing the crowd; I mean, you know, just can't say enough for the crowd.

"Obviously they're cheering for Phil and all the other guys, but, you know, I felt like I had a bit of support out there. And the crowd was a little bit loud at times, but they were just tremendous. I think they kept me going - they kept everyone going. Because it's been a long week.

"I think I'll probably go home and work on my putting, I think. Not being funny, but if I would have holed just a couple of putts I think I could have won this comfortably. I feel like I've hit the ball so, so good; probably the best I've hit it ever in a tournament. Just couldn't hole any putts."

David Duval: "It may be arrogance, but it's where I feel like I belong. And I was glad to come up here and hit the golf ball and control myself like I've been saying I've been doing, and how I've been talking about how I know I'm playing a lot better than my results have been showing.

"I stand before you certainly happy with how I played, but extremely disappointed in the outcome. I had no question in my mind I was going to win the golf tournament today."

Tiger Woods: "I striped it this week. I hit it just like I did at Memorial, and unfortunately I didn't make anything.

"My good ones were not going in, and then my bad ones weren't even close. It is a little bit slow and bumpy but you have to be committed to hitting it that hard, and I left a lot of putts short. And then when I tried to hit it harder, I gunned it past the hole.

"As well as I hit it all day today and to miss that many putts, I've missed them all week, so that's just the way it is."

Ricky Barnes: "A lot more good came out of this week than bad. It was a great week. If you told me I would have been two under, if you would have told me I was second, bridesmaid isn't too bad. But when you know you're right there, it's a tough one to swallow.

"I just didn't settle down very well late in the front nine. I got four bogeys in a row and that was pretty sour. But I'll take away the last six holes. I'm disappointed because I didn't win. But if you gave me second at the beginning of the week, I would have given them back the courtesy car and I would have gone back to my house."
