Barnes desperate to shine with Rovers

Mon 22 Jun, 01:23 PM

New Tranmere boss John Barnes is confident he can instil a winning mentality into his players at Prenton Park.

The former Liverpool and England winger, 45, was unveiled last week and will be assisted by former Liverpool team-mate and ex-Tranmere midfielder Jason McAteer. Barnes, who has signed a two-year contract, insists he will quickly get to grips with life in League One.

"Nobody will put limitations on me by saying 'you can't do this in League One' or 'you know nothing in League One'," he said.

"Regardless of whether or not I know anything about League One, I believe I know how to create a working environment that can make a team successful."
