Reds sign King of Diamonds

Liverpool have completed the capture of teenage striker Aaron King from Rushden and Diamonds.

King, 16, impressed during a recent trial period with the Anfield giants and has now signed a two-year scholarship agreement.

"We are all absolutely thrilled for Aaron - this is a brilliant achievement for everyone involved in his development throughout the five years that he has been with us," Rushden's head of youth development Paul Driver told the club's official website.

  12. XS : I dont think the lad will play for the top team­ within the next 4 or more years... That signing is­ called "securing the youth team and preparing for­ long term", top teams like Liverpool do this and­ not just spend millions on actual top players giving­ them big salaries to attract them and make them stay in­ the club. If you're a Chelsea or Man. City fan, I­ know this concept is not easy for you to understand.­ For these players who spend years as youth, growing up­ in the club, knowing the culture and history of the­ club, it's not just "a job of footballer"­ but it's being part of the Liverpool family !

    And­ also, I don't think LFC blew it's budget on­ Johnson. There'll be more signing this year... We­ needed to streghten the side backs, now I'd like to­ see an excellent winger (like David Silva, why not ?­ Let me dream guys...) and a cover for Torres. Although­ it seems that everyone doesn't want to see­ Mascherano leave, I think that we have Alonso as an­ excellent Defensive Midfielder - He's the best in­ the world in that position according to me (not Yaya­ Toure). So the swop of Masch for 25 M + Bojan seems a­ very nice offer which should be accepted. And why not­ having my dream come true by having Villa with this 25­ M ?

I sincerely hope Liverpool have paid a descent fee to­ keep The Diamonds brilliant youth academy going, there­ ain't many clubs with the facilities and ability­ that they have in the top flight ( apart from Man City)­ let alone the Conference. Well done everyone at the­ Diamonds and hope you are back in the football league­ soon.
