Motherwell chairman John Boyle will not be hurried in to appointing a new boss ahead of the Europa League first round qualifier against Welsh side Llanelli in a fortnight's time.
The Fir Park club, who qualified via their Fair Play record, discovered they would be starting their season on July 2 against Welsh opponents at Monday's lunchtime draw in Nyon.
However, Boyle is still seeking a new boss after the departure of Mark McGhee, and assistant Scott Leitch, to Scottish Premier League rivals Aberdeen. "There are no deadlines at all," he said. "There is a lot of talking to be done and a lot of interviewing to be done and it will be done in a timely way."
Two former international managers - Lawrie Sanchez and Steve Staunton - have been linked with the job.
Former Motherwell midfielder and Scotland captain Gary McAllister is also in the frame as is former Well defender Luc Nijholt.
He added: "We are interviewing a wide range of candidates but I'm not going to comment on who we have or haven't spoken to, all that does is cause undue speculation."
The first leg against Llanelli will be played at Airdrie's Excelsior Stadium - as work continues to be carried out on the Fir Park pitch - with the return game a week later in Wales.
If Motherwell get past Llanelli, they face a much more trickier trip to Albania to meet Flamurtari in the second qualifier. Boyle declared himself "delighted" to have been handed a trip to Wales in the first qualifier - but would not look beyond that tie to a possible trip to Albania.
He said: "I'm delighted for with the draw against the Welsh side. It takes a large part of the uncertainty out of the equation and it also suits the players.
"They are back to training early and so from a logistical view it's ideal although it's still going to be a tough game."
