League One side Leeds United have confirmed the sale of teenage striker Tomi Ameobi to Championship outfit Doncaster Rovers.Ameobi has spent the past week training with Rovers and has impressed manager Sean O'Driscoll enough to earn a deal.

Doncaster have agreed an appearance-related fee with Leeds, for whom the forward made just two first-team appearances.

Whites boss Gary McAllister told the club's official website: "Opportunities would have been limited for Tomi this season.

"I am looking to strengthen in terms of strikers and we have some young players coming through in that area as well.

"We wish Tomi all the best for the future."
