Debtors appeal dismissed by court

Tue 22 Jul, 02:30 PM

The Appeal Court have refused the Langston Corporation permission to appeal the original ruling in March relating to Cardiff's loan note debts. The Bluebirds were rescued from the brink of financial disaster back in spring when a High Court judge rejected Langston's pre-emptive bid to secure immediate repayment of up to £24million.

The Swiss investment bank sued the Championship club over loan notes which it holds and had sought "summary judgment" - meaning Cardiff should pay up now.

But Mr Justice Briggs dismissed the claim and also refused Langston permission to appeal to the Court of Appeal, which the bank applied to overturn.

However, the club were informed on Tuesday that appeal has been refused.
