Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp is worried that Tottenham defender Younes Kaboul will snub a move to Fratton Park to join Aston Villa.Kaboul is expected to leave White Hart Lane during the summer after struggling to establish himself at Tottenham last season.
His agent has ruled out a move to Sunderland, and Pompey boss Redknapp has expressed an interest, though he insisted the price had to be right.
And he now fears he won't get his man.
Redknapp said: "Kaboul wants to come here but I heard he is going to Villa. I don't think there is anything he (chief executive Peter Storrie) can do about it."
He added: "If Villa are in for him he may have to go there.
"We made an offer with what we thought was a fair valuation."
