Tue 22 Jul, 12:00 PM

Kevin Lisbie admits moving to Colchester was "the best thing that ever happened to me" after completing his move to Championship side Ipswich. The striker netted 17 times for the Us last season but was unable to help them avoid relegation from the Championship.

And after completing a £600,000 move to their East Anglia rivals last week, Lisbie admitted his time at Layer Road had been good for his career.

He told the club's official website: "I never really played a full season in all my time at Charlton and I also had a series of injuries, so I don't feel I ever did myself justice there.

"It was the best thing that ever happened to me, going to Colchester.

"I scored 17 goals in a side that got relegated last season, but there is far more competition here so I know I will have to work even harder and I am ready for that."
