Preston North End striker Neil Mellor expects a tough fight for a regular starting berth at Deepdale this forthcoming season.The former Liverpool forward, 25, is in the final year of his contract with North End but ended last term in a rich vein of form.
He scored five goals in his last six appearance of the season but faces stiff competition for a place from Chris Brown and Karl Hawley.
"Every position is there to be fought for now," said Mellor.
"If you watch training you can see that the manager has got us going and fighting for each other, everyone wants to be in the team now."
