Master of Arts needed all of Seb Sanders' strength to make it six wins in a row with victory at Great Leighs.
The muscular jockey needed to use all his brawn to boot home Sir Mark Prescott's gelding at 2-5 favourite in the County Handicap at the Essex track.
Scrubbing along just to get a prominent position in the first quarter-mile, Master of Arts took a lot of persuading to cut down long-time leader Kafuu and go on to win by two lengths from Prince of Thebes.
Master of Arts started his winning run at Wolverhampton on May 19 when rated just 58 after three unproductive efforts as a juvenile.
But raised seven pounds to 89 for this mile handicap, it is no certainty he could survive similar treatment by the handicapper in the future.
