Marlon King is set for talks with Hull after the Tigers agreed terms with Wigan for the signing of the striker.
The 28-year-old will hold discussions with the newly-promoted Premier League side after a fee - reportedly for a club-record £3million - was agreed.
And Hull boss Phil Brown, who has already landed six signings this summer, is now hoping to persuade King to move across the Pennines.
"We've agreed terms with Wigan and will be talking with the player over the next 48 hours," he told the Hull Daily Mail.
"It's about getting it right in the transfer market, not doing it quickly."
Hull are also continuing talks with Borussia Dortmund over Delron Buckley.

I think Hull have and are making some decent signings, whether they have enough pace and firepower to sustain it over a season is doubtful at the moment. Getting Frazier Campbell for another season at least might solve the problem, but Man U might want to keep him especially if Ronaldo leaves
arent there any younger players willing to give hull a chance?
all the prospective signings seem to be heading "over the hill land"
