Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon admits Robinho would be their final signing of the summer - if they are successful in their attempts to land the Brazilian.
Kenyon confirmed Chelsea's interest in Robinho on Monday, revealing they were in talks with Real Madrid regarding the skilful attacker.
Robinho's future at Real has been the subject of constant speculation all summer with the player's agent claiming a host of clubs, including Chelsea, were interested in signing the 24-year-old.
The Brazil international played down the prospect of a move to Chelsea, suggesting he planned to stay in Madrid, but Kenyon insists talks are ongoing about bringing Robinho to England.
"I think as far as Robinho is concerned it is quite right he has been one of our targets," Kenyon told Chelsea TV.
"We have had several conversations with Madrid and he is a player we think that would add a great deal to Chelsea.
"We have got a fantastic squad and that has been strengthened with Bosingwa and Deco and I think the coach was just looking for one more to complete what he thinks is the perfect squad.
"There is still a long way to go on that one, but we are very, very interested and the clubs are in dialogue."
