England international Paul Cooke, who is facing an uncertain future at Hull KR, could be playing in Super League for Salford in 2009.
Salford coach Shaun McRae, who had charge of Cooke during his five seasons at Hull, claims a host of Super League clubs would be interested in signing the goal-kicking stand-off if he is made available by Rovers.
Cooke is believed to be on his way out of Craven Park after he was dropped from the side for Sunday's derby with Hull, and McRae, whose club were today handed a three-year Super League licence, admitted an interest.
"There would always be interest in a player of Paul's quality," he told the Hull Daily Mail.
"I'm sure if Paul's services became available, there would be several clubs after him.
"Before making a move, I'd want to speak to (Rovers coach) Justin (Morgan), but I'd never rule out a move for a player of his ability."
