Bundesliga - Borowski to rejoin Bremen

Germany midfielder Tim Borowski is set to rejoin Werder Bremen after only one season at Bayern Munich.

The 29-year-old, whose contract with Bayern ran until 2011, failed to win a starting place at Bayern last season.

"I had a curious year at Bayern but would not want to miss out on this great experience," Borowski said.

Borowski, who played from 2001 to 2008 for Werder, will sign a three-year deal with an option for one more, the club said.

German media reported the transfer fee was around £4 million.

Werder won the German Cup last season but came a disappointing 10th in the league and are looking to bolster their squad following the sale of playmaker Diego to Juventus.

  1. He did. He had an opportunity to join the german­ champions at that time. A team that doesnt have a­ strong centre midfield. He should have cemented his­ place in the team. He has the physical attributes to­ dominate the midfield.

    But he did play 26 games­ according to yahoo. That's more games than he­ played last season and the season before.
