Preston remain unbeaten during their pre-season programme after a hard-fought 1-1 draw at Wrexham on Tuesday night.
The Welshmen had the better of the first half, with Mansour Assoumani's fifth-minute header separating the sides at half-time.
But a re-invigorated North End came out to dominate the second half, and Richard Chaplow headed in on the hour to level the score.
Preston almost stole a win in the dying minutes with strikers Chris Brown and Jon Parkin both going close.
North End midfielder Darren Carter is pleased with the progress being made, telling the club`s official website: "It's been great the way we've worked up the pre-season games.
"We've stepped the level up each game and now the next two games will be tough against Premiership teams and Premiership quality players."
