Didier Drogba's winner for Chelsea versus Hull City won our reader poll to determined the best goal of the Premier League's opening weekend.

FIRST PLACE: Didier Drogba's second - Chelsea 2-1 Hull - 28%

With the game well into injury time and Chelsea heading for an opening-day draw, Drogba's deft left-footed chip from an impossible angle (let's say it was intentional) looped over Boaz Myhill and nestled in the far corner. Drogba's first, a thumping free-kick, wasn't bad either.

SECOND PLACE: Denilson - Everton 1-6 Arsenal - 25%

The Gunners' mauling of Everton at Goodison Park sent shockwaves around the Premier League. The much-maligned Denilson opened the scoring with a peach of a strike, curling the ball into the top-left corner from 25 yards after some typically slick build-up play.

THIRD PLACE: Benoit Assou-Ekotto - Tottenham 2-1 Liverpool - 19%

Before last Sunday, Assou-Ekotto had never scored a league goal, but the 25-year-old opened his account in spectacular style against Liverpool. A ricochet landed at his feet 30 yards out, he took one touch before lashing a diagonal shot unstoppably into the top-left corner. Pick that one out.
