Bristol City will not be able to call upon the services of Lithuania striker Andrius Velicka for the trip to top-of-the-table Cardiff.

Velicka suffered knee ligament damage five minutes into his debut against Crystal Palace on Tuesday and has returned to Rangers, bringing to an end his season-long loan.

That means that Nicky Maynard and Danny Haynes should lead the attack, although John Akinde and David Clarkson will be hopeful of forcing their way into Gary Johnson's plans.

Louis Carey could make his return from injury after sitting out the win over Rangers and last weekend's win over Crystal Palace with a calf injury.

The Robins are unbeaten so far this season, with an opening day draw at Preston preceding their two wins in the last week.
