Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate is backing his side to hit the goal trail once again as they attempt to bounce back from their humiliation by West Brom.
Boro, who scored only 28 times during the last ill-fated Premier League campaign, had managed 14 in their first seven Championship games before their shock 5-0 home defeat.
Southgate said: "We are focusing more on how we break teams down and our attacking play, and having more of a set pattern in terms of we know what we should be doing when we have got the ball as a team.
"Everybody knows their roles and responsibilities.
"Obviously, we have dropped a league and it means that you face different questions, and we have got some players who at this level can be as good as there is in the division in their individual position.
"But everybody knows their role, everybody knows how we are trying to play and when we keep our game simple, we look an effective team."

A one off 0-5 drubbing is unacceptable, but perhaps more worrying is the fact that as the league currently stands, for all the great start we were supposed to be making, we haven't actually beaten anyone sitting in the top half of the division. I really want Southgate to succeed, he is intelligent and has some proper ethical standards about him, but unfortunately he just seems to have the Midas touch in reverse.
Come on England and sack Capello and give Southgate the job.
mr gibson stop being mr nice guy,
just resign your a shocking manager
