Manchester City defender Javier Garrido has accused derby rivals Manchester United of creating a hostile climate between the two clubs.
Substitute Garrido was struck on the head by a coin as he headed down the tunnel at half-time of the derby at Old Trafford which United won 4-3.
"I've been in England for two seasons and this was the match with more fanaticism than any other," Garrido told the Daily Mail.
"I know other derbies but this atmosphere was incredible with insults flying as soon as we arrived at the stadium."
Garrido believes he was not the target in the coin-throwing incident.
He added: "I was hit by a coin on the head when I was just walking calmly down the tunnel but I believe the target was Carlos Tevez, but I was standing next to him at the time.
"This was seen by Manchester United staff but nobody offered any kind of reason.
"Manchester City have not provoked any of this controversy and United have created a climate of hostility against us."

So no one thinks that the big Tevez poster had anything to do with the animosity towards City?
City created the situation and then moaned about it afterwards. Also I will be very surprised if it is not the same at City in the return fixture making every City fan/player that complains a hypocrite and equally for United.
I do not condone any violent action at a football match if nothing else because there are kids there but to blame it on one team is nonsense.
This is why City dont win you only see what you want to to see you caused nothing bull s**t
Alex Fergusson should be blamed for this atmosphere of hatred that we saw during the match. His comments did not help in calming down things. He is too jealous of the money City has today.
I do not condone missiles or anyother object being thrown by fans to players at any time; the clubs and the police and the fans witnessing such hooligan behaviour needs to be stamped out; however, for Garrido to accuse Man U of inciting a hostile atmosphere boardering on hooligan behaviour is at best nothing more than attention seeking. How long has he been at Man City? How many Manchester derby's has he been involved in? How many generation of his immediate family grown up either supporting City or Utd? Yeah, just as i thought; he has absolutely no history connecting him to the city of Manchester let alone being a passionate supporter of either club. I would suggest he lets his footballing talent do his talking on the pitch and leave off field comments to those who know what they are talking about. In finishing, i am very happy that he did not suffer any injury
its always been there ???
what a load of bow locks you people write .........A load of very sad losers.....I assume then that in the 70' and 80s the refs were all owned by Liverpool and it was the FA that made sure they kept winning the title !!!!!!!!!!!! I wonder what made them all switch to Utd....and why for a couple years they decided to Make Chelsea win it, oh yeah and now and again they switch to Arsenal......how strange. I suppose there is no point watching football anymore as the FA decides who is going to win.
Javier Garrido lad FA and the Scuma ManU are just laughing at your cry.The whole world knows ManU is FA.i.e FA=ManU and both have been doing everything for the latter to top the league and by-pass the Mighty Reds.If it is genuin its ok but by fraud it pains us all.So I think the best is the remaining 19teams should do whatever to stop the scums ManU
Cheer up bitter blue noses! You almost got a draw out of it. Amazing isn't it that in the last two games involving City that there have been incidents yet it is not City that are to blame.
How can Arsenal not control their fans? At least they can control their players.
Sorry Garrido! This is nothing what ManCity av faced at ManU... ManU have faced 10 times worst than that... Check Ur fact 1st.
And who are you tryig to kid United? (I wonder how long it took you to think that name up?) You and your cronies are guilty of inciting aggression from the word go, as soon as the Manchester City players coach door opened, people were hurling abuse, and as for throwing coins? What the f**k is up with you animals? Who deserves that treatment? Because Tevez chose to come to City, you lot decide its ok to throw coins? And then hit a player who had nothing to do with it! Garrido has every right to be unhappy with the way your fans behaved, as would you be if somebody threw coins at you. Stop being so blinkered!
Right....City haven't done anything to stoke the atmosphere surrounding the derby....? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? What a joke. Open your eyes Garrido; your club is just as guilty of creating a hostile environment.
At any rate, just one more victory for the Reds! GET IN, OWEN!!
at last,an article about city based on truth! its clear to anyone thats seen the footage that everything garrido says is right, though like van persie screaming f**k off to the city fans and only adebayor being punished i dont doubt that only craig bellamy wil be disciplined. utd, like arsenal before them cannot control their fans, and the more that clubs bow down to the press and punish individual players( usually from one team), and turn a blind eye to the problem of crowd control, the sooner we return to the bad old days of hooliganism and the west ham/millwall match will be common place in todays game.
well done with your witch-hunt!
dream on c*ckhead!! lol... there's only one team in manchester - and it aint blue!!
wow the true scums exposed....Sir ALex and his team of jackasses r pathetic......dont worry City...that referee will not be around in a yr's time when that red nosed kangaroo retires......then we shall see who wins the ManChester derby.......im not a City fan but they r way better than those Salford @#$% who masquerade the name of Manchester around their club....
