Rochdale boss Keith Hill insists former Manchester United youngster Jamie Mullan has the potential to become a hit at Spotland. The 19-year-old winger was released from Old Trafford in the summer, despite making a number of appearances for the reserves, and has been looking for a club ever since.
He has had trials for Swansea, Leeds and Huddersfield since the summer in the hope of securing a permanent contract and has joined Dale on a short-term deal.
"Jamie comes from an excellent pedigree having learned his trade at Manchester United," said Hill.
"He has the potential to be a very exciting player but he now has to have his feet firmly on the ground and make the best of his attributes.
"We will provide him with the right environment in which to fulfil his obvious potential."
