Ling content with current Os squad

Thu 22 Nov, 04:45 PM

Leyton Orient manager Martin Ling has declared himself satisfied with his current squad as the deadline for making loan signings passed.Ling brought in young Tottenham forward Andy Barcham on Wednesday, and although he admitted making tentative enquiries about a centre-back, he is happy with the players at his disposal ahead of the busy Christmas schedule.

"We had a dabble with a couple in the centre-back position, but we have four there at the moment and even if Sam Oji goes back (to Birmingham) we'll still be looking for number four.

"When you are pitching that to clubs, the quality being offered isn't any better than what we've already got at scholar level.

"So I thought we'd stick with what we have and wait for the market to reopen in January.

"Let's hope that we are in a position then where we can say to the chairman that we need a couple of players to see the job through."
