Harry Redknapp hailed Jermain Defoe's five-goal performance in Tottenham's stunning 9-1 destruction of sorry Wigan.
Tottenham 9-1 Wigan
Harry Redknapp: "For Jermain (Defoe) to get five goals was an outstanding performance. Yesterday in training he looked so sharp and I felt if he could carry that into the game he would be a real handful. You don't get too many nines in the Premier League, it's a bad day for Roberto Martinez but he'll come back even stronger and I'm sure next week he'll take it out on someone else."
Roberto Martinez: "We finished the first half very strongly and looked like a team who were going to dictate things. But we have ourselves to blame for the goals we conceded and after that you are climbing a mountain. We have to make sure we move on from this,"
Bolton 0-2 Blackburn
Gary Megson: "Jussi (Jaaskelainen) was not aware Sam (Ricketts) was going to get there (for the second goal). But there didn't seem to be any need for Jussi to come. It was comic cuts. The first goal was always going to be important. When they scored it took the wind out of our sails. For us not to get a touch in the build-up is poor in the extreme. The second goal was even worse in terms of that."
Neil McDonald (standing in for the ill Sam Allardyce): "Hopefully we have put a bit of a smile on (Allardyce's) face and taken a little bit of stress away from him. I would like to think it will give him a chance to recover knowing his team has done well. I would imagine he would be okay next week for match against Chelsea. We are really pleased with the performance. We have kept a clean sheet which is a bonus. Everyone played at the top of their game. We have got rid of our away hoodoo. We worked very hard to try and change that."
Stoke 1-0 Portsmouth
Tony Pulis: "I thought the first half was as poor as we have played and Thomas (Sorensen) has changed the game with his penalty save. We were a little bit better in the second half and it was a great three points for us. It was a quality goal, a quality move and a quality finish."
Paul Hart: "At the moment I feel very hard done by, although when we had a penalty, you expect to score. After that I don't think he has had a shot to save our goalie (Jamie Ashdown) so you have to say you have to come out with something. I couldn't (see them scoring). I was comfortable. It's very hard to be critical of my players, I have got to say, because through thick and thin they try to win football matches and that's what we set out to do and it's very hard to swallow."

Great result for the team, manager. and fans. So pleased for Rednap one of the nicest and most gifted managers in the game. Watched the goals on the TV UNBELIEVABLE. Don't expect to see this scoreline again in the premiership for some time. Well done Spurs. Man U supporter.

EPL filled with filthy coaches. For example, Wenger is a paedophile (can't get enough of young boys)...Ferguson (sir my foot) is a chief thug/hooligan..and corrupt too...the police are still on his (and d son's) case ...Redkanpp (or kidnap or redneck) is a big thief (at least you all agree on that)...Sam Alardyce is another corrupt fellow..need i continue????
And What................... Come on you Spurs!!!!!!!!!
This is why spurs deserve a top4 finish, They have a great manager, they havn't spent 200+ million buying their league position. Their fans dont gloat about history like looserfools constantly do, Sure a Europa League spot would still be great for them but i wish them all the best in the push for the champions league. They certainly deserve a top4 finish much more so than liverpool or Man City.
This can ONLY happen in England where the league is @#$$%?....how can a game between 2 teams from the main league end up 9 -1??? Utter farce..complete rubbish...pure nonsense!
