Grewcock Set For Bath Return

Sat 22 Dec, 12:41 AM

Bath, who will move top of the Premiership if they beat struggling Recreation Ground visitors Leeds Carnegie on Saturday, welcome back England lock Danny Grewcock after a two-month absence.

Grewcock has recovered from a bicep injury, and Bath head coach Steve Meehan said: "Danny has been very enthusiastic and light on his feet, and that is a great thing to see from a player with his amount of experience and the amount of rugby he has played.

"He just doesn't get bored with it - his enthusiasm is infectious."

Leeds, despite suffering six defeats in seven starts since returning to the Premiership from National League One, have enjoyed some overdue success - winning three out of four European Challenge Cup games in recent weeks.

Rugby director Stuart Lancaster said: "We feel we have built momentum with our European campaign.

"We are excited about the challenge of this game, and the next two (against Sale Sharks and Wasps)."
