Six Get Boxing Day Date

Sat 22 Dec, 12:32 AM

Six of Leeds Rhinos' Grand Final-winning squad have been named in new coach Brian McClennan's starting line-up for the Boxing Day Challenge against Wakefield at Headingley.

Old Trafford try scorers Scott Donald and Lee Smith - the starting wingers against St Helens - have been named out of position, with Donald at full-back in place of Brent Webb, who is recovering from surgery, and Smith at centre.

Hooker Matt Diskin and forwards Ryan Bailey, Carl Ablett and Ian Kirke are the other survivors from the clash with St Helens.

With none of the Rhinos' Test players available, McClennan gives chances to winger Danny Williams, who finished last season on loan at Castleford, Ryan Hall, Michael Ratu, Jordan Tansey and Jamie Thackray.

Wakefield include five of their seven close-season recruits, including the ex-Widnes trio of Damien Blanch, Scott Grix and Oliver Wilkes.
