Sunderland new-boy Phil Bardsley is looking forward to seeing some familiar faces as he settles in to life at the Stadium of Light. The defender completed a move from Manchester United on Tuesday and admits he is looking forward to working under Roy Keane - and linking up with former team-mate Kieran Richardson.
He told the club's official website: "He (Keane) was one of my heroes as a kid so to have him as your manager is something special.
"At United he used to get the best of the young lads so hopefully he can do that for me here.
"I know Kieran very well - we came through since the age of 14 or 15, we were in the youth team together so we've known each other a long time.
"I also spoke to Jonny (Evans) in the summer and he told me he loved his time here last season and I'm looking forward to playing alongside him again."
