Walsall striker Troy Deeney admits he is surprised to have played so much first-team football this season but is keen to keep on learning. The 19-year-old has started the Saddlers' last five games, taking his total number of appearances this season to 24.
"If I'm being honest I didn't think I'd be as involved as I have been," he told the club's official website.
"I thought I'd be pushing into the team about now but, to be fair, I've been there or thereabouts all season.
"It's been a real whirlwind. I'm enjoying myself at the moment and am looking forward to the next few weeks and months.
"I'm not taking anything for granted though and want to keep learning and working hard."
