Devaney set to miss cup clash

Wed 23 Jan, 12:45 PM

Barnsley manager Simon Davey is set to be without midfielder Martin Devaney for his side's FA Cup fourth-round clash with Southend. The winger has not trained all week because of illness and now looks unlikely to be fit in time for the trip to Roots Hall.

"Martin has been off with sickness and we do not expect him here at the club on Wednesday," Davey told the club's website.

"We are going to Southend on Thursday afternoon so he is a massive doubt for the trip."

Davey has though been boosted by the news that loan signing Miguel Tininho will be available to part in the match.

West Brom have given their permission for the Tykes boss to use the Portuguese defender in the meeting with the Shrimpers on Friday.
