Fulham boss Roy Hodgson is set to bring in a string of new faces as he looks to salvage the Cottagers' increasingly desperate-looking season.Daniel Cousin is set to bolster the Craven Cottage strikeforce after a fee of £3million was agreed with his current club Rangers.
With Denmark midfielder Leon Andreasen secured on Tuesday - joining defender Brede Hangeland who arrived last week - and with Jari Litmanen and Erik Nevland both on Hodgson's radar, it seems the Fulham team could take on a very different look over the remainder of the season.
The Premier League side, who were knocked out of the FA Cup by Bristol Rovers on Tuesday night and have not won in 11 top-flight matches, have upped their bid for Cousin.
The Cottagers moved again after their first offer of a reported £2million was turned down by the Scottish Premier League leaders.
The 30-year-old will discuss personal terms in London on Wednesday.
Hodgson said after Tuesday night's loss: "I believe the club is meeting with him as we have permission from Rangers to do that but I can't tell you how close we are to signing him. He is a player we admire and think will help us in our relegation fight."
The deal will represent good business for Rangers, who signed Cousin for around £1million from Lens last August. The player has since scored eight goals in 17 SPL games.
Cousin's departure from Ibrox could see Rangers step up their interest in Aston Villa striker Luke Moore, with Martin O'Neill ready to let the 21-year-old leave if the £3.5million asking price is met.
Fulham have also signed Andreasen from Bundesliga side Werder Bremen on a three-and-a-half-year deal.
A deal to sign Watford striker Marlon King remains in limbo because of concerns over the player's knee and Hodgson could not offer any update last night.
He said: "I'm sure there have been lots of conversations between Fulham and Watford and even with Marlon and his agent but I have been with the team all day."
The busy Cottagers have also had an approach for former Manchester United striker Nevland turned down by FC Groningen.
Club director Hans Nijland confirmed the unsuccessful approach for the 30-year-old but indicated that Groningen were prepared to negotiate a fee for Nevland, who has hit 53 goals in 116 appearances and signed a three-year contract extension in April.
