Preston boss Alan Irvine is confident that Aberdeen defender Michael Hart will join the Championship strugglers within days.Hart was expected to undergo an MRI scan this week to assess the full extent of the hip injury which has sidelined him since Boxing Day.
Deepdale medics are confident the results will be positive and the 27-year-old should complete his move to before the transfer window closes.
"Our physio Steve Kemp feels Michael looks a lot better than we first feared," Irvine told the Lancashire Evening Post.
"So, assuming the MRI scan doesn't throw anything else up, we are hopeful a deal can be concluded within the next week or so."
Hart, who has already signed a pre-contract agreement to joining North End in the summer, arrived on Monday to be examined by the club's medical team.
