Sheffield Wednesday manager Brian Laws was full of praise for his side despite Tuesday's FA Cup third-round exit to Derby at Hillsborough. The Championship side took their Premier League counterparts right to the wire, before eventually losing 4-2 on penalties following a 1-1 draw.
"We left it too late because it's a lottery when you get to penalties," Laws told the club's website.
"What a first half we had though, I thought we were outstanding.
"I wasn't sure whether we could keep the momentum going after Saturday's game against Sheffield United but the first half was as good, if not the best I have seen in a long, long time.
"It went end to end and I am sure the supporters will go away thinking it was a great, entertaining game and at least if we are going to go out of it we went out with a bit of pride."
