Notts County manager Ian McParland is hoping defender Mike Edwards will make his long-awaited return from injury against Morecambe. The 27-year-old made his comeback after six months out with a broken leg and ruptured ankle ligaments in a friendly at Aston Villa before boosting his fitness with another run-out against Nottingham Forest.
With Lee Canoville suspended, Guy Branston injured and Michael Byron on loan until the end of the month, McParland has hinted he could call upon the services of Edwards for the first time this season.
He told the club's official website: "The injury list is clearing up. We have a tough game at Morecambe coming up, and there's every chance Mike Edwards could play in that game.
"It would be something to put him back in, but that maybe a gamble with only two games behind him but he has something about him.
"He is a smashing lad, and it is terrific to see him back."
