Swedes reject City's keeper offer

Wed 23 Jan, 02:15 PM

Swedish club IF Elfsborg have revealed they have turned down an offer from Manchester City for goalkeeper Abbas Hassan.Hassan had a trial with City earlier this month and impressed goalkeeping coach Eric Steele.

Sven-Goran Eriksson decided to make a bid, but Elfsborg are not prepared to let him go without a fight.

"We have rejected their offer." confirmed sports director Stefan Andreasson to Expressen.

"We are not trying to sell our keeper, it's all up to the buyer if they want to change the offer."

Lebanese-born Hassan is still optimistic that an agreement will be reached between City and Elfsborg before the transfer window closes next week.

"I believe and hope that the clubs will solve this," he stated.
