Ipswich have completed the signing of Sheffield United's Alan Quinn on a three-and-a-half-year deal joining for an undisclosed fee.

The Republic of Ireland international has joined for an undisclosed fee after initially joining on an emergency loan deal at the weekend.

Ipswich manager Jim Magilton told the club's official website: "We had to move fast when I heard Alan might be available and we are delighted to have him at the club.

"I've known Alan since he was a lad and he will come in and freshen things up for us.

"He wants to get back into the Premier League and hopefully he will do that with us."
