Goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov agreed a three-year contract extension with playoff hopefuls the Phoenix Coyotes.
"I'm extremely excited to sign," Bryzgalov told the team's website. "I'm very excited about our team, coaches and management.
"I chose to stay in Phoenix because I love our fans and my team mates and I'm confident we have a bright future."
The deal is worth $12.7 million, according to media reports.
Bryzgalov's strong play has been a major reason behind the Coyotes improved performances this season. The 27-year-old Russian has posted a 16-10-2 record with a 2.33 goals against average in 28 games.
