Heidfeld climbs into F1.09

BMW Sauber driver Nick Heidfeld climbed into the cockpit of the F1.09 for the first time during testing in Valencia.

The team's scheduled morning programme was changed to focus on reliability due to strong winds at the southern Spanish circuit.

Once it died down in the afternoon they turned their attentions to mechanical set-up.

Heidfeld completed several long runs in the car, which BMW hope will allow the German and team-mate Robert Kubica to compete for the title.

"Finally I drove the F1.09 for the very first time," Heidfeld said after completing 92 laps.

"We still have a lot of work to do, but we are making progress with each kilometre and the reliability is already there. Overall the F1.09 handles quite differently to last year's car.

"Fortunately I managed to work on the set-up in the afternoon. The most important result after my first day of testing is that the car reacts as intended to set-up changes."

The final day of testing at the circuit is on Saturday.

Ello moi F1 fiends it is I moron from peru, I must sorry say to you all for my stoopid, stoopid comments, thanks to recent court ordered therapy I now realise I am deeply deeply in love with Mr. Hamiltons son. first time I see him I grow bulge in my pants, would I actually say his name I am surely to cream my jeans, I know ferrari are the real cheaters in the sport and deserve NOT their many many illgotten titles but I resist urge to caress Mr.Hamilton's son by pretending to hate the masterful Mclaren team as much as I really hate myself.   7. Hey Bernard, NEVER, Marino, whoever you are, Michelle Schumacher was the biggest cheat of all. Driving Damon Hill and trying to drive Jacques Vill of the track to try a win a world championship. Schuey even had it in his contract that Rubens had to drive over and let him win the race, this happening in Austria 2002. And yousay that Schuey is the best in the world and can not be match, what a load of B U L L S H I T. Schuey was a complete MORON and could never attract his own girlfriend so he stole Frenzens, Schuey was a complete F!!!HEAD and that is fact.

Can I ask why people are still talking about last season and are still defending Lewis and other drivers on last years results when this report is squarely on BMW and their developemnt program for this years season. Just because Lewis won the title by one point when he should have won the title by twenty points be considered as this all conquering driver that is the best in the land. Doesn't anyone have any respect for the other talented drivers in this sport. Last year was last year and this year is this year, lets just see what is going to happen in the first five races before we judge who is the best driver this year. And I believe that this driver above Kubica is going to be the driver to watch this year.

  9. Lewis hamilton is simply the most talented and best driver even at his young age! All you Ferrari (GLORY) supporters just can't come to terms you have'nt got the best driver racing for your team!!!! And as for last years last race you could keep blaming Timo Glock but you could look at any number of events in the previous races and both sides could make an argument from that! Come on lewis good look in winning the next championship.

    Timo was driving on the wet side of the track to keep his tires cool as he had over run them, the reason why he was in the false position in the first place. Had he pitted when he was supposed to he would of ended up in the same place, he took a chance and it didnt pay off.
    I find it frustrating that people cant just accept last years results, Lewis won lets get on with this season good luck to all.

    The question that should be asked is "why is Bernie so stupid to come out with a comment that favours Ferrari?" silly silly man.
