Manager Adrian Boothroyd has hailed the impact and leadership skills of Watford's January arrival John Eustace. The midfielder signed from Stoke just before the closure of the transfer window and has made an instant impression as the Hornets got their promotion campaign back on track.
And Boothroyd told the club's official website: "He's a warrior, he's won things, he's been in the Premiership and he's had to battle back from adversity.
"I asked him to be the captain and he said that he would like to get the respect of the players first - that says an awful lot about him.
"When the games are tight, he could be the one who could make the difference. He does a lot of things really well and he does a lot of unseen things.
"He's right in the middle of it all, organising and calming everybody down."
