Northampton boss Stuart Gray was delighted with the way his side stuck to their task after they beat Hartlepool 1-0 at Victoria Park.Giles Coke netted for the second successive game to give the Cobblers the spoils, but Gray also praised goalkeeper Mark Bunn for a fine late save to deny Joel Porter.
He said: "I challenged them to play football, and to a great extent that's what they did.
"This is a difficult place to come, made even more difficult by the wind, but we defended well when we had to and created a few chances before the goal that won it for us.
"Some of our play in the first half went a little astray as the ball tended to run away from us, but overall it was a good performance and we deserved the three points thanks to a good goal and that late save from Mark Bunn."
