Hereford's promotion surge continued as they claimed their fifth win in a row by beating Shrewsbury 2-1 in front of 1,655 travelling fans.Shrewsbury went ahead after six minutes when Guy Madjo sent Asa Hall away to finish coolly from 18 yards but Sherjill MacDonald was a constant danger for Hereford and his fine work on the left brought the equaliser from Simon Johnson after 27 minutes after goalkeeper Glyn Garner kept out shots from Gary Hooper.
Hereford, with a gale in their backs, edged the second half and MacDonald headed down Johnson's cross for Hooper to nod home in the 68th minute.
Shrewsbury have now taken only six points out of their last 33, although they came close to snatching a point when Madjo steered a close-range header inches wide in the final minute.
