Port Vale manager Lee Sinnott could welcome Adam Eckersley back into his squad for the crunch clash against fellow strugglers Gillingham. The defender lasted 72 minutes on his comeback from an ankle problem for the reserves in their game against Wolves last week and may come into contention.
Sinnott has no new injury or suspension worries to contend with and will otherwise select from the same squad which lost 2-0 at Tranmere.
Kyle Perry and Danny Glover both made substitute appearances against Rovers and will hope to have done enough to force their way into Sinnott's starting XI.
Shane Tudor is ruled out for the remainder of the season with a knee injury, while Colin Miles (medial ligament injury) is also sidelined.
The game is also expected to come too soon for Keith Lowe, who is nursing a badly bruised knee bone.
