Richie Partridge is pushing for a starting berth against promotion-chasing Peterborough after scoring the decisive goal against Darlington.Midfielder Partridge has been scuppered by a calf injury and has not started for City since the 3-1 win over Mansfield a month ago.
Skipper Paul Butler (foot) and striker Chris Holroyd (hamstring) also returned against the Quakers, but Holroyd was withdrawn at half-time and could be doutbful.
Tony Grant could also figure as he recovers from a calf problem, but Nathan Lowndes remains stranded on the sidelines with a back injury.
The Blues ended a five-game winless streak against Darlington and must hope that a change in fortunes coincides with John Murphy rediscovering his scoring form as Chester try to secure their Football League status.
