Gillingham will again be without goalkeeper Simon Royce for the trip to Vale Park on Monday afternoon to take on basement club Port Vale.Royce has failed to recover from an ankle injury so Derek Stillie will continue in nets, fresh from his heroic penalty save in Saturday's vital 2-1 win over Bournemouth.

Danny Cullip will not travel as manager Mark Stimson does not want him to play two games in three days so soon after returning from a hamstring injury. Adam Bygrave looks set to take Cullip's place at the heart of the defence.

Midfielder Kevin Maher misses out as he serves the second game of a three-match ban following his red card against Crewe recently while Adam Miller has a hernia, but is set to play through the pain barrier.
