On its second day, the Madness finally arrived at the NCAA Tournament.
Western Kentucky's Ty Rogers hit a 26 foot jump shot on the buzzer in the dying seconds of overtime to help his 12th seeded school overcome fifth-ranked Drake 101-99 in a dramatic game.
Fourth-ranked Connecticut also packed their bags, losing 70-69 in a thriller to unfancied 13th seed San Diego, with De'Jon Jackson proving to be the hero by making a two point shot with just 2 seconds remaining in overtime.
It was a miserable day for fourth seeds, as Vanderbilt also tumbled, falling 83-62 to 13th-seeded Siena.
12th-seeded Villanova, who squeaked into the tournament by selection, overcame fifth-ranked Clemson 75-69.
Elsewhere, the 'Cinderella' of past NCAA tournaments seventh-ranked Gonzaga suffered an upset of their own when it ousted by tenth-seeded Davidson 82-76.
However, there was no shock loss for five of the top-ranked teams on Good Friday.
Top-seeds North Carolina and Memphis both secured berths in the second round with comfortable wins over Mount St. Mary's and Texas-Arlington respectively.
There were also wins for for second-seeded Tennessee, Texas and Georgetown, who also won with relative ease - although Tennessee will probably want to play a little better after having to battle little-fancied American for all but 14 minutes of its first round clash.
