Championship - Charlton send Soares packing

Charlton have decided against extending Tom Soares's loan spell, despite Phil Parkinson admitting he has 'done well' at The Valley.

The 22-year-old Stoke midfielder has been at The Valley since January, but was left out of the side which drew 0-0 against Preston on Saturday and will now return to the Britannia Stadium.

Soares made 11 appearances for Charlton, scoring one goal, but with the Addicks' appearing doomed to relegation to League One they have decided not to keep him on.

"Tom did well for us but he's going to go back," Parkinson told the South London Press.

  1. Soares looks as if he has put on the weight and is­ sorely out of match practice. Another example of a­ Palace player thinking he is too good and the grass is­ greener elsewhere. What a waste of a decent player­ especially if he cannot even hack it at relegated­ doomed (hahahahaha) Charlton.
