Cheltenham midfielder Craig Armstrong says he is happy to wait until the end of the season to resolve his future despite his contract ending. The former Nottingham Forest player rejoined Keith Downing's men in the middle of the season following a short spell with Gillingham but his current contract runs out at the end of the campaign.
Armstrong has already admitted he would like to extend his stay at Whaddon Road but revealed his main priority is retaining the Robins' League One status.
"Keith (Downing) can't start planning until we are safe so we can't worry about that now," he told the Gloucestershire Echo.
"I could have stayed at Gillingham for another year, where I had security, but all I care about now is doing my best to help Cheltenham stay in this league.
"If we can stay up, we can push on for next season and hopefully the board will back Keith to bring in some more experienced players at this level."
