Charlton midfielder Matt Holland expects to open talks with the Addicks over a new contract at The Valley in the coming weeks. The 34-year-old midfielder, named the club's player of the year, is out of contract at the end of the season but has spelt out his desire to stay in south London and help the Addicks return to the Premier League.
"There haven't been any talks. It was all put on the back burner until we knew where we were next season," Holland told the club's official website.
"But we know our destiny now, so I'm sure I'll be sitting down with the manager over the next couple of weeks to see where we go from there. I want to stay here.
"I wouldn't like to put a figure on when I'll retire. I just want to enjoy my football and play for as long as I possibly can. And while I feel fit and able I'll continue to do that.
"Fitness-wise, I've felt good this season, particularly after an injury at the start. And if Chris Powell is still going, there is hope for us all!"
