Preston boss Alan Irvine believes he must strengthen his squad this summer to ensure the club compete at the right end of the table next term.Irvine has successfully guided North End to safety after arriving at Deepdale last November with the club in the relegation zone.
And an impressive run of form in recent weeks has allowed Irvine's men to climb clear of danger but the former Everton assistant knows reinforcements are needed if they are to carry on their progress next campaign.
"My job was to try and get us to safety and I've managed to do that," he said.
"Obviously I'm delighted and now we must bring in some strength this summer to ensure we eventually move to the other end of the table."
