Stoke assistant manager Dave Kemp believes Mamady Sidibe will be fit to start Saturday's potential promotion decider at Colchester. After scoring twice in the victory over Bristol City, the Mali forward left the Britannia Stadium on crutches with suspected ankle ligament damage.
But the injury is not as bad as first feared with later scans revealing there was no fracture or long-lasting damage to the ankle.
And Kemp told The Sentinel: "It looks like it's just a tweaked ankle and we're delighted by that, he's obviously not training or doing much at the moment, but we are hopeful he'll be with us Saturday.
"I came into the ground on the Sunday and he was still on crutches, so I thought it was bad at that stage, but then on the Monday he was springing up and down the corridor and looking much better."
The Potters will be promoted to the Premier League this weekend if they beat the Us at Layer Road and Hull fail to beat Crystal Palace.
