Walters wins top Town accolades

Ipswich top scorer Jon Walters scooped two awards at this year's Player of the Year evening, with Danny Haynes and Pablo Counago also honoured.12-goal forward Walters, who also has eight assists to his name this campaign, was crowned both Players' Player and Corporate Player of the Season for his significant contribution to Town's push towards the Championship play-offs.

The Tractor Boys lie three points outside the top six with just two games remaining and are looking for a return to the top flight for the first time since 2002.

Walters told Ipswich World: "To be voted Player of the Year by your team-mates is very special and it's a proud night for me."

Elsewhere at the awards Counago landed the goal-of-the-season award for his backheel against Charlton whilst Haynes was awarded the most improved player at Portman Road.
