Martin O'Neill admits that he is unsure as to whether Gareth Barry will be at Aston Villa next season.
The Villa captain still has two years to run on his current contract, but is reportedly attracting interest from Liverpool and Chelsea.
Rafael Benitez is rumoured to have already made an enquiry as to the midfielder's availability, with the prospect of launching a £14million raid this summer.
Villa are keen to retain the England international's services, and will try and fend off the interest from elsewhere by offering their skipper a bumper deal to remain at Villa Park.
However, that may not be enough to tempt Barry into committing his future to the club and O'Neill has revealed that the situation is starting to give him cause for concern.
"We will do our utmost to try and keep Gareth, whether we can I don't know," the Villa boss said in the Daily Mirror.
